Fraud and false statements

Amanda Leeann Porter was employed by at least two Southern California hospitals during a brief time.

A woman accused of pretending to be a nurse at local hospitals was arrested. Annette Arreola reports for the NBC4 News at 5 a.m. on Nov. 15, 2024. 

A biologist determined the bear was fake as it didn’t leave behind bear saliva, hair and urine. 

To investigate the possible insurance scam, authorities brought in a biologist, who said the scratches did not match those of a real bear. Christian Cázares reports for the NBC4 News at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2024.

California officials say four people were arrested after a person dressed in a bear costume faked attacks on cars for insurance payouts.

Victims say the Employment Development Department  and Money Network haven’t helped them recover money. They turned to the I-Team for help.
