After spending several hours outside amid an excessive heat warning, firefighters rescued a man who fell into a trench in Los Feliz Thursday.

A pickup truck barrelled through the outdoor seating area of a Los Feliz cafe, dashcam video footage showed.

The driver of a pickup truck crashed into the patio area of Mustard Seed Cafe and took off without identifying himself, a witness said. This video appeared on the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024.

It’s no secret public parking in Los Feliz is limited, often making it impossible to find a spot. A new red curb has added to that frustration, limiting residents in an already difficult area.

A curb on Franklin Avenue and Winona Boulevard that spans approximately 100 feet has been painted red to promote pedestrian visibility — but residents are frustrated by the limited public parking in the congested Los Feliz neighborhood. A rally and march will be held in Los Feliz Monday in conjunction with Labor Day to draw attention to what organizers say are long patient wait times, missed diagnosis, neglect and chronic understaffing in patient care.
