A 22-year-old USC student will make history Friday as the first Black graduate of the school’s PhD program in biokinesiology, and the journey started with a kidney transplant in LA.

He was the first Black student to earn a master’s degree in biokinesiology at USC. Ted Chen reports May 8, 2023.

The students were arrested before they were about to board a flight back to Los Angeles, according to police.
