Authorities are investigating an unidentified person who was stopped by several residents in the west valley where the Kenneth Fire ignited.

The LAFD downgraded an evacuation order in West Hills to a warning Thursday evening as crews continue to work on containing the blaze. Camilla Rambaldi reports for the NBC4 News at 6 p.m. on Jan. 9, 2025.

The curfew will take place from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Pacific Palisades and Altadena.

The ongoing wildfires have put the Los Angeles area under an air quality alert, with the National Weather Service advising SoCal residents to remain indoors with their windows closed and wear N-95 masks if they have to go outside.

“If you’re told to evacuate, then get the hell out,” Adam Schiff told residents during a press conference Thursday. The senator from California urged residents to leave promptly when an evacuation order is issued.
