America's Parade LA: The West LA Veterans Affair Campus event will include "veterans, active duty military personnel, high school and college bands, and supporters of our veterans community." Eleven in the morning is the start time on Nov. 11. Be sure to look for the NBC4 booth, which will be the place for free coffee during the event.
Veterans Day Deals Around Town: A number of businesses and chains will say thank you via complimentary meals and other discounts on Friday, Nov. 11. Plan on dining at Denny's, Boston Market, or another place on the lengthy roster? Make sure you note any special times and what exactly the meal or treat will be.
Parades and Ceremonies: While Veterans Day commemorations began the weekend before Nov. 11, several will dot the Nov. 11 calendar across the region. Veterans Day in the National Parks: Our beautiful natural spots and historic sites and battlefields and monuments only see waived admission on a few important days a year. Friday, Nov. 11 is one of those days, the final one on the calendar, and while the majority of parks are free all year long, some 127 places will welcome everyone, no admission required, over the entire day.
