Thanking those who have served on Veterans Day is an American tradition that stretches back nearly a century, to World War I's final chapter.
Over the decades, we've taken this important day, November 11, as an opportunity to show gratitude to members of the military. The thousands of observances through the years have included ceremonies, speeches, films, parades, and numerous other ways to display honor and history.
If you're taking part or all of the day to commemorate the hallowed occasion, look to those places around Southern California, and beyond, which are spotlight something special for veterans and their friends and family.
